Transitioning Into Spring
It's April! Yay! It snowed again yesterday and actually stayed! (less enthusiastic Yay!) I am not going to let this get me down! Spring weather will soon be upon us! Here are a few ways I'm making it feel like Spring even though it still looks like winter outside:
Put Your Parka & Snow Boots Away
Yes, I realize that mother nature has thrown us a curve ball and betrayed us all. I had to break out my snow brush after dinner last night. I'm honestly not surprised, this is Canada after all. For the most part the temperature has stayed above freezing. So, a few weeks ago I made it official and put my parka in storage. (And it's not coming back out until next year)
In it's place, I have some light weight down jackets, a peacoat and for those really awesome days a water resistant shell. As for shoes, I have pulled out my ballet flats again and all my suede numbers are back in action!
Stop and Smell the Flowers
It's been a long winter. It's time to be one with nature. So many of my favourite flowers are in bloom: Tulips, Hydrangeas and soon peonies. Their presence can instantly brighten any room and lighten any mood.
Change Your Nail Polish
Something so simple. We tend to associate certain colours with certain seasons. Having happy spring colours on my nails makes me happy.
I don't know about you, but I like to put my lighter fabrics away for the winter. It's time to reincorporate them back into your wardrobe! It might be too early for your neons, but it's not too early for mixing your heavy and lightweight fabrics. Before you know it, it'll be time to put your heavy fabrics away for the season!
Switch Up Your Fragrances
It's amazing how our memories are triggered by scents. Changing out your heavy vanilla based fragrances for ones with lighter fruity notes can instantly spring you forward into the next season!
